Catalyzing Active Learning Strategies in Evolution: CALSE

We aim to implement Evidence-Based Teaching Methods (EBTMs) in evolutionary biology classes at the CAU. We aim to introduce interactive lecturing, shift learning from rote memorization to a deeper conceptual understanding, and improve student engagement. Interactive classes can significantly improve students’ science attitude, interest, and learning outcomes. Overall, we aim to transform teaching from a lecture-based, passive learning format, to a format that uses active learning, and engages the students through class activities, by training the professors/docents to use EBTMs.
